Born to Draw Comics and It's a Round, Round World - Ellie Peterson & Craig Orback

Join us for a joint launch party, celebrating two new picture books by two fantastic creators!

You may recognize author and illustrator Ellie Peterson for The Reason for the Seasons and as the illustrator of Bea’s Bees! And her new book? It's a Round, Round World!

We all know the earth is round. But HOW do we know? Join intrepid young scientist-adventurer Joulia Copernicus as she takes readers on a historical journey through time and space. From jumping on board Columbus's ship to planet-hopping in the outer reaches of our solar system, Joulia explains with humor and wit the ins and outs of how we learned that the earth is round.

Craig Orback has illustrated a HUGE number of books. His newest work? Born to Draw Comics: The Story of Charles Schulz and the Creation of Peanuts!

As a child, Charles split his free time between adventures outdoors with his friends and dog Spike, and daydreams and doodles inspired by the comics he loved to read. He longed to become a professional cartoonist, but saw his dreams deferred by unexpected challenges that laid ahead: military deployment to the European front of World War II, and the heartbreak of a family tragedy back home. Even so, Charles never lost sight of the hopeful joy of his early years and his love for Spike, both of which inspired PEANUTS. The comic strip went on to become the most popular and influential in comics history.
